Pinus strobus. The biggest conifer native to Eastern North America. Easy to grow and fast growing especially if planted in a sunny spot with moist but well drained acidic soils. Makes a great shade tree, and if planted in a row can make a good wind break. Squirrels, bears, rabbits and many other species love the 6" pinecones. Barred Owls, Bald Eagles, and Ravens are just some of the birds that like to nest in these large trees.
