Black Walnut

We are growing seedlings of our greatest black walnut trees that have been producing heavy, nutritious and delicious nut crops for forty years here in Elmore. In order to encourage you to plant these trees we are offering a buy two and get one free offer in any size. 

Juglans nigra, native to eastern North America. Easy, tall, fast growing tree that produces bountiful, effortless harvests of edible walnuts in 5-10 years. Superb flavor, grown from seed from our two best trees. Average height is around 70' but some black walnut trees have grown to 150'!

The beautiful dark wood is very valuable to woodworkers, and the hulls from the nuts can be used as a natural dye. Two trees are needed to produce nuts.

Larval host to several native moths including Luna Moths. The nuts are a favorite food of squirrels.
